Sebastiana Ramirez Lopez, Washed Caturra

Sebastiana is a second generation coffee grower who inherited her parcel of land from her parents. She and her husband work to maintain the farm, focusing on specialty quality. She receives help from the El Sendero Cooperative, and through it she and her family have been able to boost their income. Their farm is called Tzun Witz, which means “on the mountain” in Popti Mayan. We are receiving Sebastiana’s coffee through Primavera Green Coffee, an importer/exporter based out of Guatemala. Bryan met Nadine, the company founder, at SCA Symposium in 2023, where Primavera was awarded the Sustainability Award for Business Model. This coffee is exceptionally sweet, with just enough acidity to keep it from seeming lackluster or boring. We het a really enticing aroma of sweet florals and citrus blossoms, and flavors of honey, milk chocolate, and caramel apple.
